Evaluation of ecotoxicity of selected pharmaceuticals
Weiss, Jan ; Dvořáková, Dagmar (referee) ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (advisor)
In recent years consumption of drugs and thus the quantity of their residues in natural ecosystems is increasing. It is necessary to deal with their possible negative effects on the environment. This thesis is focused on the ecotoxicological evaluation of pharmaceuticals. Diclofenac and ibuprofen from the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory substances, penicillin G and ampicillin from the group of antibiotics were tested. Mainly tests on aquatic organisms were used to evaluate of ecotoxicity, because the tested pharmaceuticals are predominantly occurred in the aquatic environment. Daphnia magna, Thamnocephalus platyurus, Artemia salina, Sinapis alba, Lemna minor, and Brachionus calyciflorus were used as testing organisms. Values of LC50, EC50 and IC50 were determinated and the ecotoxicity of pharmaceuticals was compared.
STANDARDISATION AND HARMONISATION OF EXPERT VALUATION METHODOLOGY FOR THE NEEDS OF FORENSIC ECOTECHNIQUE: FOREST AND TREES
Holušová, Kateřina ; Podrázský, Vilém (referee) ; Simon,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Alexandr, Pavel (advisor)
In the presented thesis is an overview of the current state solved the problem, specifying the inclusion of Forensic Ecotechnique: forest and trees into the forensic sciences in the world and its description as part of special methods of forensic engineering. The results focus on the design of standardized and harmonized processes according to the type of expert opinions. As another of the key results of the work are designed functional biometric parameters for evaluating trees in the functional diagnosis of Methods of contact flora assessment (“CFA”). Application of some methods of measurement and selected functional biometric parameters are listed in the examples in the measurement of selected forest stands of beech in the National Nature Reserve Voděradské bučiny and in Chřiby hills. As a general supplement usable in Forensic ecotechnique: forest and trees are given the limits for functional diagnostics. In another series of work includes a discussion on the proposed standards and the measurement results. The work is concluded by summarizing the results and the benefits.
Bioindicators - their role in the evaluation of environment
Winklerová, Lucie ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (advisor)
This thesis deals with the use of plant and animal bioindicators in an evaluation of the state of the environment. Bioindicators are divided in this work according to ecosystem for which they are used into bio indicators of terrestrial and of water ecosystem. Furthermore, they are divided according to groups of analytes, which are indicated by means of them. In the work the attention is paid to selected elements of risk, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls. The presence of these xenobiotics in the environment is particularly influenced by human activities. First of all individual industrial and automobile transports are permanent sources of contamination of the ecosystem with these xenobiotics. Considerable influence on the ecosystem pollution with organic and inorganic contaminants had also an injudicious application of certain fertilizers in agricultural production. The importance of bioindication and bioindicators is big. They help us not only assess the presence of xenobiotic in the environment, the development of its occurrence and sources of pollution, but they are also necessary in the evaluation of its biological effect, and responses and mechanisms of the organism which are induced by it. Biomonitoring is now an essential part of environmental protection by reason of monitoring the presence and the transport of contaminants.
Chromium and its species in compartments of ecosystem, especially in aquatic ecosystem
Marek, Tomáš ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on the fate of chromium in the environment. The basic knowledge about the properties of chromium and its compounds, resources, inputs and transformation of the most important chromium species in the various components of the environment is summarized. An Aquarium as an Ecosystem Suitable for Ethological Observations of Fish
Mejstříková, Lucie ; Hanel, Lubomír (advisor) ; Andreska, Jan (referee)
Aquaristics is a very widespread hobby not only among adults, but also among children. However, the aquarium may not only serve as an decorative and relaxing element, but also as a teaching tool. Through project-based learning, the ethology of fish, for example their orientation in space and time in relation to where they feed or their epigamous and social behaviour, can be studied there. The success and failure of fish farming and plant cultivation points to the imbalance of minerals and substances in the water, so it is important to take into account their cycling in the aquarium. This paper describes how to set up and care for an aquarium and it also provides various recommendations. To illustrate the cycling of substances, energy and matter, simple diagrams have been created that can also be used in ecology lessons. In the practical part, the biology of model aquarium fish has been described, accompanied by many photographs. In the didactic part, worksheets were designed - one to serve as a basis for project-based learning, the other for data analysis. The effectiveness of the worksheets was verified in the sixth and eighth grade of a primary school. Since the first worksheet had very low return and was frequentely misunderstood the second worksheet was created. This one was less time consuming...
Zemědělská technika a mechanizace pro agrolesnictví
Makovský, Milan
The aim of the thesis is to analyse the newly prepared subsidy title Agroforestry. To propose the necessary techniques for the establishment and subsequent care of agroforestry systems. The chosen topic is addressed on the basis of the processed information from specialized literature sources that describe the requirements of this system. The developed solution provides the possibility of comprehensive establishment (planting) and maintenance of the system, thanks to the creation of procedures and machinery lines for the maintenance of all tree species covered by the agroforestry subsidy but also for tree species outside the scope of the subsidy measure. The main contribution of this work is to analyze the Agroforestry subsidy title and, thanks to the knowledge found, to offer those who will implement this measure in their agroecosystem the right set-up of the machine line so that they can meet all the criteria and requirements set and can achieve the fulfillment of the subsidy title. The paper further discusses the nature and importance of agroforestry systems, their impact on the ecosystem and their benefits. It also describes the types of agroforestry systems depending on the location and method of establishment. The thesis includes a description of the history of agroforestry in the Czech Republic.
